The ESL Teaching Roadmap : the What and the Why

Are you an ESL/ELL teacher looking for some help?

You are excited about the opportunity to do something you are passionate about, yet you cannot help but feel overwhelmed…

So many ESL teachers feel they have no support and/or no curriculum.

Does any (or all) of this sound familiar?

  • You are trying to schedule ESL services, plan lessons and basically do all the things all the time
  • You do not have a plan for teaching ESL newcomers
  • You have a multi-level ESL classroom and are burning out quickly trying to figure out how to reach them all
  • You wish you had an effective way to collaborate with your colleagues – both mainstream and ESL
  • You have  TONS of questions about teaching or reaching ELLs but no one to bounce your ideas off of or to ask for advice
  • You are the only ESL teacher in the district OR you feel alone in your team of teachers
  • You are ready for some guidance, clarity, ready-made age-appropriate worksheets

I could probably go on and on. But my bet is that at least one of the above scenarios made you say “Yes!”

What if I told you that there is a way out?

Imagine how would it feel if :

  • You had a roadmap to navigate your role as a teacher?
  • You knew exactly where to start when a new student with no English showed up?
  • You were able to answer your non-ESL colleagues’ questions about how to best reach your English learners in the mainstream classroom?
  • You had someone to bounce your ideas off of, or as one ESL teacher put, “a colleague that would act as a sounding board”?
  • You felt like you have a grip on your time, sanity and confidence?

Well, that is why I created The ESL Teaching Roadmap.

As we like to say it, it is ESL teaching, simplified.

The minute you join The ESL Teaching Roadmap, your transformation begins.

It is materials-meets-guidance and community-meets-PD type of transformation.

And I think you’ll like it!

  • Ready-made materials such as ESL Curriculum guides for grades K-5 and 6-12, worksheets, lesson plans, powerpoints, checklists, etc. that you can use right away or adapt to your own needs
  • Guidance and support in our Facebook group and monthly Q and A sessions
  • Tools for owning your role as an ESL teacher, even when there is little support; new materials uploaded regularly!

Do you have what it takes to take advantage of The ESL Teaching Roadmap?

I know, it sounds fantastic, doesn’t it? But the doubt does being to creep in… Maybe you can live without it. And I am not saying you can’t – it very well may not be for you.

But have you ever been in a situation where you were thinking a lot and didn’t do anything about it?

The number of ESL newcomers kept growing. Yet your voice for more help or resources kept drowning, along with your sanity.

You would print the materials and feel organized for a hot second but then, once everything settled for a while, you forgot where you’ve downloaded, printed or filed that super handy worksheet… There goes your time.

You’ve felt like no one ever knows what an ESL/ELL teacher does for ages. You’ve had no one to ask questions that would actually get you answers and have gotten used to this feeling of diminishing confidence.

The ESL Teaching Roadmap does not promise to solve all your problems. What it DOES promise is to help you along the way towards becoming an even better, more organized and more confident version of you.
